Founded in 1980, Krouzian-Zekarian-Vasbouragan (KZV) Armenian School is the only Armenian day school in Northern California. Located in San Francisco, KZV provides a nurturing and academically challenging environment for students from preschool through 8th grade. The school was established by the St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church to serve the educational and cultural needs of the growing Armenian-American community in the Bay Area.

KZV is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and offers a comprehensive, dual-language curriculum in Armenian and English. The academic program meets California state standards while integrating Armenian history, language, religion, and cultural traditions. KZV’s mission is to develop well-rounded students who excel academically, grow spiritually, and remain connected to their Armenian heritage.

The school places a strong emphasis on community, character development, and student engagement. Small class sizes ensure individual attention and strong relationships between teachers and students. In addition to core academic subjects, students participate in art, music, physical education, computer literacy, and a variety of extracurricular activities. Students are also encouraged to take part in cultural celebrations, school performances, and service projects that strengthen their identity and civic responsibility.

KZV is also home to the Ovsanna Misserlian Preschool, a program designed to provide a warm, caring, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children ages 2.5 to 5. The preschool promotes social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth while introducing children to Armenian language and culture from an early age.

Over the years, KZV graduates have gone on to attend top-tier high schools and universities, becoming successful professionals and active members of the Armenian and broader communities. The school is deeply committed to fostering a lifelong love for learning, leadership, and pride in Armenian identity.
